A 5-star hotel in Luxembourg
The splendor of the past, reimagined
"It is a hidden sanctuary that radiates with a glow between light and shadow. This house is iconic, and we have lovingly revived its precious legacy; it is the restoration of a treasure" - Tristan Auer

A sumptuous legacy
Awarded the gold medal at the 1881 Exposition Universelle in Paris, architect Pierre Kemp designed Villa Pétrusse in 1880, at a time when Luxembourg City was dismantling its fortress, along with its fortifications and famous military casemates. Villa Pétrusse was built for a prosperous industrialist, passed down from generation to generation until 2010, and was officially classified as a "national monument" in 2018.
Perched atop the former Jost bastion of the fortress dating back to 1479, with its barracks, fortifications, and casemates still visible today, Villa Pétrusse was created as a family home, and this original spirit continues to imbue it with timeless charm.

Magnified by Tristan Auer
Brought to life by interior designer Tristan Auer, the décor of Villa Pétrusse is deeply inspired by the spirit of the original house, with the faithful restoration of many historic elements. Among them are the precious hand-painted wallpapers featuring large-format reproductions of works by Sosthène Weis. Passionate about Luxembourg, the artist’s poetic watercolors appear strikingly modern today.
Deeply committed to preserving the house’s soul, Tristan Auer immersed himself in Villa Pétrusse’s identity and carefully selected only the finest artisans to honor the past and recreate its interior spaces. Tristan Auer designed all the furniture pieces, as well as the custom fabrics for Villa Pétrusse.
Period artwork, a selection of noble materials, and thoughtfully modern layouts harmoniously blend tradition and creativity.
